Victory is the defeat of an enemy or opponent, to success in a struggle against difficulty or an obstacle. It is a state of been triumphant.
Colossians 2:15: “15And having disarmed the powers and authorities, he made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them by the cross.”
WHY DO WE NEED VICTORY?
- WE NEED VICTORY BECAUSE WE HAVE AN ADVERSARY THE DEVIL – 1 Peter 5:8
“8Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour. 9 Resist him, steadfast in the faith, knowing that the same sufferings are experienced by your brotherhood in the world.”
2. WE NEED VICTORY BECAUSE ONLY THOSE WHO WIN OBTAINS THE PRIZE (Win your Battle) –
1 Cor 9:24 “Do you not know that those who run in a race all run, but one receives the prize? Run in such a way that you may [i]obtain it”.
3. WE NEED VICTORY BECAUSE THE DEVIL COMES TO KILL, TO STEAL AND TO DESTROY –
John 10:10 “The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly”.
4. WE NEED VICTORY SO THAT OUR HOPE IS NOT DESTROYED – 1 Cor 9:7
“7 Who ever goes to war at his own expense? Who plants a vineyard and does not eat of its fruit? Or who tends a flock and does not drink of the milk of the flock? 8 Do I say these things as a mere man? Or does not the law say the same also? 9 For it is written in the law of Moses, “You shall not muzzle an ox while it treads out the grain.” Is it oxen God is concerned about? 10 Or does He say it altogether for our sakes? For our sakes, no doubt, this is written, that he who plows should plow in hope, and he who threshes in hope should be partaker of his hope.”

HOW DO WE GET OUR VICTORY IN CHRIST?
1. WE HAVE TO BE BORN OF GOD –
I John 5:4: “For whatever is born of God overcomes the world. And this is the victory that has overcome the world even our faith”
2. WE MUST KNOW THAT NO MATTER WHO YOU ARE, YOU NEED HELP –
Luke 22:41-43: “41 And He was withdrawn from them about a stone’s throw, and He knelt down and prayed, 42 saying, “Father, if it is Your will, take this cup away from Me; nevertheless, not My will, but Yours, be done.” 43 Then an angel appeared to Him from heaven, strengthening Him.”
Matthew 27:32: “As they were going out, they met a man from Cyrene, named Simon, and they forced him to carry the cross”.
3. WE MUST RECOGNISE OUR BATTLE FIELD –
Ephesians 6:12 : “For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of [c]the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places.”

4. WE OVERCOME BY THE BLOOD – Rev 12:11
“And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, and they did not love their lives to the death.”
5. WE HAVE VICTORY IN CHRIST – 1 Cor 15:57
“But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.”
